(collectively, the "Service"). By using D-Cart you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated by your use of the Service:
- Account information – name, email address, username, and password when you register.
- Profile information – phone number, delivery address, and profile picture if you choose to add them.
- Order information – billing address, items purchased, payment method, and order history.
- Marketplace listings – product details, photos, price, and contact information you submit when listing an item for sale.
- Vendor information – business name, registration number, registration documents, and bank details for vendors.
- Payment information – we integrate with Khalti and eSewa. We do not store your card or wallet credentials; these are handled by the respective payment providers.
- Location data – with your permission, we use your location to assist with delivery address selection on the map.
- Device & usage data – IP address, device type, OS version, app version, pages visited, and crash reports to improve the Service.
- Communications – messages sent via in-app buyer-seller chat.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Process and fulfil your orders.
- Create and manage your account.
- Facilitate buyer-seller communication.
- Send transactional emails (order confirmations, OTP codes, delivery updates).
- Review and approve vendor applications and marketplace listings.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
- Improve and personalise the Service through analytics.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Vendors – when you place an order, the vendor receives your name, delivery address, and contact details necessary to fulfil the order.
- Payment providers – Khalti and eSewa receive the transaction amount and reference to process your payment.
- Email service – we use Brevo (Sendinblue) to send transactional emails on our behalf.
- Legal requirements – if required by applicable law, court order, or government authority.
- Business transfers – in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may transfer to the new entity subject to this policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
Order records are retained for a minimum of five years to comply with Nepali financial regulations.
You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time (see Section 7).
5. Security
We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and JWT-based
authentication to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure;
we cannot guarantee absolute security but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
6. Children's Privacy
D-Cart is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please
contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
- Withdraw consent for location access at any time via your device settings.
- Object to processing for direct marketing purposes.

after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
